《口语(二)》 课程简介: 《口语(二)》是为本科英语专业第一学期开设的专业基础必修课。本课程旨在通过专门、系统的口语技能技巧训练,逐步培养学生对“说”英语的兴趣和信心;让学生了解一定的语言表达形式并能掌握应用,锻炼学生用英语表达丰富的思想,从真正意义上掌握英语语言的运用,为将来实际跨文化交流做准备。 一、课程目标与毕业要求关系 (一)课程目标 1.学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式了解达八大话题:自我介绍和描述,地点描述,关系描述,体育与健康,如何购物,工作与财富,规则等。 2.能准确掌握诸如询问、请求、建议、忠告等交际功能。 3.在不同的场合,对不同的人用恰当、得体的语言形式去体现不同的交际功能; 4.树立主动开口讲英语的信心,培养讲英语的热情和兴趣; 5.逐步达到在英语口头表达方面准确与流利的结合。 (二)课程目标对毕业要求的支撑关系 课程目标1支撑毕业要求1:系统掌握语音、词汇、语法、语篇等英语语言知识; 课程目标2、3、4、5支撑毕业要求5:具有英语语言综合运用能力、英语文学赏析能力和跨文化交流能力。 二、教学内容与预期学习成效 知识单元 对应课程目标 预期学习成效 知识点或能力 教学活动 学时 Unit 1 Protectors 课程目标1、2、3 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:自我介绍和描述。 The unit focuses on likes and interests and the topic of music and movies. Students will talk and watch people who are doing what they love, and practice talking about their own passions and interests. By the end of the unit, students will be able to use the simple present tense to talk about their favorite movies, music genres, and other interests. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:分小组,并由教师安排,确定各小组的策划项目选题 理论 学时4 Unit 2 Family Connections 课程目标1、2、3 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:消费习惯的描述。 The unit focuses on money and spending, and the challenge of becoming more environmentally friendly in your shopping choices. Students will learn about spending habits and discuss ways to be more environmentally friendly. They will use the present simple tense and adverbs of frequency to discuss their habits and routines.Students will evaluate their own habits and encourage each other to make positive changes to become green shoppers. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:着重词汇的表达,然后各小组根据自身项目选题,展开相关地方描述,并进行汇报; 理论 学时4 Unit 3 Global Stories 课程目标1、2、3、5 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:职业规划描述。 The unit focuses on jobs and career choices. Students will understand and interpret an infographic about dream jobs, and listen to two people talking about their jobs. They will also watch a TED Talk about the value of struggle in our work. By the end of the unit, students will be able to use the present simple to describe their jobs and build on their self-introduction. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:各小组根据自身项目选题,展开相关人物关系描述,并进行汇报;有小组互动互评 理论 学时4 Unit 5 Good Design 课程目标1、2、3 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:科技。 The unit focuses on how technology is trying to improve the human experience. From jet wings to drones, from smartwatches to self-cleaning clothes, students are introduced to a variety of gadgets that attempt to make our lives easier and more exciting. Students will use How many and How much to ask questions about how technology works, and quantifiers to give accurate responses. By the end of the unit, students will be able to describe gadgets, as well as offer an analysis of their usefulness. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:各小组根据自身项目选题,展开相关体育与健康描述,并进行汇报;让学生准备本课相关材料。 理论 学时4 Unit 6 Inspiration 课程目标1、2、3、4 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:挑战。 The unit focuses on challenges and overcoming them. Students will listen to and watch individuals who have faced challenges. Students will use time clauses to share how they have overcome daily challenges and offer advice to others. Students will also practice involving the audience in an interesting way, as TED speaker Daniel Kish does in his presentation. Note that students are asked to talk about personal issues during the unit, and some sensitive topics might come up in their discussions. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:各小组根据自身项目选题,展开跟科技相关的词汇的描述,并进行汇报; 理论 学时4 Unit 8 Better Cities 课程目标1、2、3 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:野外地区。 The unit focuses on nature, especially remote places. Students will watch and talk about extraordinary locations and extreme conditions, learning the language and vocabulary to talk about places and make comparisons between them. By the end of the unit, students should be able to speak with enthusiasm about the natural world and describe similarities. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:各小组根据自身项目选题,展开相关工作描述,并进行汇报;根据预习的内容准备相关的辅助材料 理论 学时4 Unit 10 Mind and Machine 课程目标1、2、3 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:创意城市。 The unit focuses on communities and how changing a neighborhood’s physical environment also changes the community. Students learn words to describe typical problems in neighborhoods and the language of making suggestions for improvement. By the end of the unit, students can evaluate places and offer ideas and recommendations. Note that throughout the unit, students should be encouraged to think about their own neighborhoods and what would help improve them. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:各小组根据自身项目选题,展开相关财富描述,并进行汇报;跟城市相关的PPT资料的准备 理论 学时4 Unit 12 Discovery 课程目标1、2、3 学生通过听讲、小组讨论、自我陈述、角色扮演等方式熟练准确表达话题:健康的习惯。 The unit focuses on habits, especially in relation to hygiene. Students will watch and discuss about the powerful impact that handwashing with soap can have on global healthcare. Students will discuss their own habits and offer opinions about what habits contribute to good health or not. By the end of the unit, students will be able to agree and disagree in their opinions. 1.课堂教学; 2.课堂实践:各小组根据自身项目选题,展开相关规则描述,并进行汇报;让学生自己创建情景对话,灵活运用本课知识 理论 学时4 三、课程目标达成度评价 1.课程目标1-3的达成度通过课堂对话和口语测试进行综合考评; 2.课程目标4-5的达成度通过课堂综合表现进行考评; 四、成绩评定 课程成绩包括4个部分,分别为平时出勤、课堂表现、作业、期末口语考试。考核方式及成绩构成:总评成绩=平时成绩50%+期末口语考试成绩50%。 平时成绩按百分制计算,包括:课堂表现40%+课堂作业50%+考勤10%; 平时成绩具体要求及成绩评定方法如下: 1、平时出勤10%:平时出勤满分100分,采用“只扣分,不加分”的方法计算成绩,旷课一次将在总评成绩中扣除10分,迟到及早退每次扣5分。无故缺勤5次者,取消本门课程的考核资格。 2、课堂活动综合表现40%。本课程将结合具体话题,要求学生以分小组对话的形式进行话题交流,具体评分标准为:每单元都有小组活动,每单元结束都有小组记录小组互评的成绩。 评价标准:90-100:主动交流行为(主动回答、主动分享、主动提问等)并且语言运用流畅。80-90:主动参与行为(主动参与到小组活动中,积极回答问题并积极让话题继续)并且语言较流畅;70-80:被动参与行为:不积极参与,需要其他小组成员的引导或提示,并且语言不够流畅;60-70:被动,不愿参与,语言不流畅,达意不清楚。60分以下:不参与,不开口。 3、课堂作业50%: 口语练习作业。(作业要求形式多样,可以是视频、音频作业,也可以是课堂展示类的作业等); 五、课程教材及主要参考书 1.建议教材 《大学体验英语1》(听说教程),高等教育出版社, 2018年 2.主要参考书 《流畅英语口语教程1》(Inside Out),上海外语教育出版社,2017年;
